CySEC’s participation in Global Money Week 2026 aims to enhance critical thinking and promote a sound financial mindset. NICOSIA, March 16, 2026 - The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) is participating in Global Money Week 2026 (16–22 March) with a wide range of informative and educational activities. Global Money Week 2026 is the14th consecutive year of the international awareness campaign organised by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), to strengthen financial literacy among young people. Through its initiatives, CySEC aims to equip young people with the essential knowledge and skills to effectively manage their finances, while empowering them to make responsible and well-informed financial decisions. This year’s campaign theme is titled “Smart Money Talks” and focuses upon today’s environment, where young people are increasingly called upon to navigate complex financial matters, including earning their first income, managing a personal budget, understanding investment products, and protecting themselves from financial risks and scams. Recognising the importance of early financial education, CySEC supports and empowers students by providing them with knowledge and practical tools that will help them develop sound financial habits and strengthen their critical thinking when making financial decisions. CySEC launched its Global Money Week activities with a lecture delivered by its Vice- Chairman, Mr. Panikkos Vakkou, at UCLan Cyprus, and a range of additional initiatives will follow, including:
