American Manufacturing Surges to Four-Year High as Factory Activity Expands
The White House announced on April 22, 2026, that the Institute for Supply Management's key manufacturing index registered its third consecutive month of expansion at its highest reading since 2022. ITC Light Devices, No Review, Proceeding Terminated
The U.S. International Trade Commission determined not to review an enforcement initial determination by the presiding administrative law judge finding that Apple's second redesigned products do not infringe the asserted patents. Doyle v Cooper - Liquidators' Application to Amend Court Orders Dismissed
The Federal Court of Australia, presided over by Justice Collier, dismissed an interlocutory application by Paul Cooper and Paul Appleton as Joint Liquidators of NQ Minerals PLC seeking to amend prior court orders from 18 February 2026. The liquidators invoked the slip rule under r 39.05 of the Federal Court Rules 2011 (Cth) and the Court's inherent jurisdiction to extend time for compliance with a bankruptcy notice issued against Walter Doyle. Federal Court Grants ACCC Leave to Intervene in Epic v Apple Proceedings
The ACCC has been granted leave by the Federal Court of Australia to intervene in Epic Games, Inc v Apple Inc proceedings relating to relief orders arising from the Court's August 2025 finding that Apple misused its market power in breach of Australia's competition laws by restricting alternative app distribution and in-app payment methods on Apple devices. The ACCC will make written submissions limited to specific relief issues of public interest, including the promotion of competitive digital services markets and the broad public interest nature of remedial orders. The relief hearing resumes on 28 April 2026.
Orshan et al v. Apple Inc. - Motion Filing and Response Deadlines
The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California docketed multiple filings in the long-pending Orshan et al v. Apple Inc. case. The FDA Center for Tobacco Products issued a Warning Letter to mohawksmoke.com for marketing new tobacco products—specifically Zyn Nicotine Pouches in Apple Mint and Strawberry Cake varieties—without required premarket authorization. FDA determined the products are adulterated under section 902(6)(A) of the FD&C Act and misbranded under section 903(a)(6). The company has 15 working days to respond with actions to address violations or face civil money penalties, seizure, and/or injunction.
