Kemp Declares State of Emergency for Winter Storm Fern

Georgia Declares State of Emergency Ahead of Winter Storm

Governor Brian P. Kemp declared a statewide State of Emergency in Georgia effective January 30, 2026, ahead of a winter storm expected to bring extreme cold, snowfall of 1-4 inches, and hazardous travel conditions through February 6. Nearly $9.9M SLCGP Cybersecurity Grants Awarded to 44 Georgia Entities

The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) and Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) announced $9,873,903 in State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) awards to 44 Georgia entities, with special consideration given to K-12 schools for FY23. Applications for FY24 SLCGP open April 1, 2026, and FY25 SLCGP open September 1, 2026.
