What changed

Wyoming has officially joined the National Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program (NVSEP) operated by idPair, becoming the 21st gaming jurisdiction to participate. The program allows individuals to self-exclude from sports betting, horse race betting, and skill-based amusement games through online enrollment rather than requiring in-person visits to gambling locations.

Affected parties include Wyoming residents who wish to self-exclude from gambling activities, as well as gaming operators in the state who must honor the exclusion across participating jurisdictions. The program provides free online enrollment, identity verification, and notarization. This represents an expansion of consumer protection mechanisms in Wyoming's regulated gaming market.

  • Wyoming is the latest gaming state to join the National Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program from idPair.

Individuals can beginning signing up Monday through the Wyoming Gaming Commission or at the program’s national website.

Wyoming residents can self-exclude from sports betting, horse race betting and skill-based amusement games.

“The Wyoming Gaming Commission is committed to fostering an environment of integrity, fairness and player protection for all participants,” said Executive Director Nick Larramendy. “Joining NVSEP furthers our efforts by delivering a unified platform, making self-exclusion more accessible and providing wider geographical coverage than ever before for individuals who feel it is the right step.”

Wyoming is the 21st U.S. gaming jurisdiction to join idPair’s national self-exclusion program. The program is rolling out soon in Massachusetts.

Benefits of idPair program

The self-exclusion program through idPair has multiple benefits, especially compared to some state-run programs. Currently, 15 states offer exclusion programs for daily fantasy sports while the other six offer exclusion for multiple gaming types.

In some states, those looking to self-exclude may have to physically go to a gambling location to submit paperwork. The idPair program uses online enrollment and reinstatement if they are signing up for another round after their initial exclusion period expires.

Signing up involves completing the digital forms, verifying identity and getting online notarization for free if required by the player’s state of residence.

IdPair also keeps an updated list of local and national support resources.

“I commend the state of Wyoming for embracing the shared commitment to player health that NVSEP represents,” idPair CEO Jonathan Aiwazian said. “To be effective, we must provide people with tools that travel with them. Problem gambling does not stop at the state border, and now, neither will self-exclusion protection.”
