Former Sanger ISD Police Officer Placed on Do Not Hire Registry
The Texas Education Agency announced on March 31, 2026, that Israel Demello, a former Sanger Independent School District police officer, has been formally placed on the Do Not Hire Registry. The action was taken under the authority of TEA's Office of Inspector General for Educator Misconduct. This designation permanently bars Demello from employment in Texas public schools.

The reports draw from the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS), one of the largest education databases in the world, covering approximately 1,200 school districts and charters across Texas serving over five million students.
