Summary

CPSC has reannounced and expanded an existing recall of Sangohe adult portable bed rails (models 504E and 504Q) due to entrapment and asphyxiation hazards. The recall now covers approximately 36,500 units, up from 26,200 units in the January 2026 recall. The products violate the mandatory standard for adult portable bed rails and do not bear required warning labels. Consumers should immediately stop use and contact Sangohe for a full refund.

What changed

CPSC has expanded its January 2026 recall of Sangohe 504E and 504Q adult portable bed rails to include additional units, bringing the total to approximately 36,500. The bed rails violate the federal mandatory standard for adult portable bed rails because users can become entrapped within the rail or between the rail and mattress, posing a serious risk of death by asphyxiation. Additionally, the products lack required warning labels.

Consumers who own these bed rails should immediately stop use and contact Sangohe by email at SGHproductrecall@163.com or visit https://www.kdbhealth.com/Recall to obtain a full refund. Retailers and distributors should verify inventory for the affected models and remove any remaining products from sale. Manufacturers should confirm whether their distribution chain includes these recalled products.

What to do next

  1. Immediately stop use of any Sangohe 504E or 504Q bed rails and contact Sangohe for a full refund
  2. Verify inventory and remove recalled products from retail shelves if applicable
  3. Notify customers who purchased these products about the expanded recall and entrapment hazard
