Traffic will proceed one lane in each direction as crews work to improve the connections of US-20 and Buffalo River Bridge. Construction is expected to be complete before Memorial Day.

ISLAND PARK– Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on U.S. Highway 20 around Buffalo River Bridge and Pond’s Lodge beginning Monday, April 27. Crews will be working to stabilize the soil where the bridge meets the roadway and then repave at these approaches to create a smoother ride for drivers and preserve the longevity of US-20 in the area.

The Buffalo River Bridge is a three-lane crossing. Drivers will be moved over and able to travel on one lane in each direction.

Construction is expected to be complete well before the Memorial Day holiday that marks an influx of recreational traffic for the summer season in Island Park and Yellowstone National Park. All traffic control devices will be removed for evenings and weekends.
