Abstract
A personal cleansing composition having comprising a physiologically active amount of carnosine, wherein the personal cleansing composition is in the form of a shower gel, bubble bath, soap, or water-soluble delivery agent. The personal cleansing composition further comprises physiologically active ingredients including magnesium salt and caffeine in an amount of approximately 0.1% to 1.0% by weight of the total composition. The carnosine and magnesium salt form a carnosine-magnesium complex on activation with water, and wherein the personal cleansing composition further comprises transdermal absorption enhancers for the delivery of the physiologically active ingredients selected from the group consisting of salicylic acid in an amount of approximately 0.5% to 2.0% by weight of the total composition and azone oil in an amount of approximately 0.25% to 1% by weight of the total composition.
