Dana McLaughlin LPC Restrictions Terminated, New Jersey
Summary
The New Jersey Professional Counselor Examiners Committee has issued an order terminating all license restrictions imposed on Dana McLaughlin, LPC (License No. 37PC00581700). The restrictions, originally imposed in December 2022 following a complaint, included a stayed suspension, supervised practice requirements, and a prohibition on supervising others. The Committee determined that McLaughlin satisfied all conditions of the Consent Order, including completing required coursework and receiving supervisor attestation of readiness for independent practice. McLaughlin may now practice professional counseling in New Jersey without restriction.
What changed
The Professional Counselor Examiners Committee issued an order on January 28, 2026 terminating all restrictions contained in the December 13, 2022 Consent Order for Dana McLaughlin, LPC. The original Consent Order had imposed a one-year stayed suspension, a requirement to practice under pre-approved supervision, a prohibition from supervising mental health service providers, required completion of three graduate-level courses, and a requirement for Committee authorization before engaging in family counseling.
The Committee determined that McLaughlin satisfied all terms of the Consent Order after receiving correspondence from her practice supervisor attesting to her readiness for independent practice. This is a routine administrative action removing individual license restrictions and does not create new obligations for the broader profession, establish new regulatory standards, or affect other licensed counselors.
