Notice of Appointment of FASAB Chair and Two Members
Summary
FASAB announced the appointment of Terry Patton as Chair and Eric Berman as a board member, effective April 2026. The appointments are published in the Federal Register as required administrative notices. These positions carry four-year terms on the federal advisory body that establishes accounting standards for the U.S. government.
What changed
FASAB has announced new leadership appointments to its board. Terry Patton assumes the role of Chair while Eric Berman joins as a board member, both effective April 2026. These appointments fill positions on the nine-member federal advisory body that develops accounting standards for the federal government.
Affected parties including federal agencies, government contractors, and auditors should monitor FASAB activities under the new leadership. The board's future standards decisions will impact how federal entities report financial information, which has downstream effects on government contracting accounting practices and transparency requirements.
What to do next
- Monitor FASAB for updates on new accounting standards
