Fruit Procurement Price-Fixing Cartel Fined 1.57M PLN, Greater Poland
UOKiK President Tomasz Chróstny fined five businesses and one individual a total of 1,576,000 PLN for operating a price-fixing cartel in fruit procurement across Greater Poland during the 2022–2024 harvest seasons. The cartel involved six companies — Fructis, Damex, Silver-Trans, Kam-Pol, and Kalbrok — coordinating purchase prices for cherries and currants through messaging applications. Evidence included direct message exchanges recovered during a search of Fructis's premises, showing real-time price sharing and agreement to avoid competition.
Live Nation Fined 15.3M PLN for Unfair Concert Terms, Consumer Refunds Ordered
Prezes UOKiK Tomasz Chrostny issued Decision No. RGD-2/2026 finding that Live Nation used unfair contract clauses in its event terms, including a vague bag-and-baggage policy enforced inconsistently at entry and a six-month refund application deadline for events cancelled by the company. The decision imposes a fine of 15.3 million PLN and mandates consumer restitution. Affected consumers who purchased tickets for events cancelled by Live Nation between May 8, 2024 and the date the decision becomes final are entitled to refunds within one month of finalisation; consumers charged deposit fees during the same period must receive reimbursement within one month of providing proof of payment. The company must publish the decision on its website, Facebook, Instagram, and email ticket purchasers within 14 days of finalisation. The decision is not yet final and may be appealed.
UOKiK Concert Guide: Ticket Rights, Cancellations, Consumer Protection
UOKiK published a concert guide (poradnik koncertowy) on 22 April 2026 covering consumer rights for ticket purchases and event attendance. The guide addresses sudden ticket price increases, event cancellations, reduced artist lineups, secondary market risks, and cloakroom liability under Polish consumer law. UOKiK states the guide will help consumers understand what to watch for when buying tickets, what to do before an event, and how to exercise consumer rights when something goes wrong.
