PacifiCorp Residential Rates Rise $4.29 Monthly
The Oregon Public Utility Commission has approved rate adjustments for PacifiCorp residential customers, effective April 1, 2026. The changes reflect a power cost true-up for 2024 actual versus forecasted costs, resolved through agreement among PUC staff, PacifiCorp, and consumer advocates. Residential customers will see a typical monthly bill increase of approximately $4.29 (2.9%), with Albany customers facing an additional increase of $5.64 (4.1%) reflecting undergrounding costs.
PGE Residential Rates Increase $7.97 Monthly, 5%, April 1
The Oregon Public Utility Commission has approved rate adjustments for Portland General Electric residential customers that take effect April 1, 2026. The combined impact reflects an all-party agreement on PGE's annual power cost update and additional rate-related filings, resulting in a net increase of approximately $7.97 monthly or 5% for typical residential customers. The rate changes incorporate adjustments for fuel and purchased power costs, storm-related expenses recovery, electric distribution system investments, low-income energy assistance programs, federal hydropower benefits, battery storage resources, demand flexibility programs, transportation electrification, community solar, and wildfire mitigation. The changes were delayed until April 1 under HB 3179 (FAIR Act) to prevent residential rate increases during the winter heating season. PGE serves nearly 850,000 residential customers in Oregon.
PacifiCorp Residential Rate Increase of $5.64 Monthly Effective April 2026
The Oregon Public Utility Commission approved rate adjustments for PacifiCorp residential customers effective April 1, 2026. The combined effect of the annual power cost adjustment (true-up for 2024) and other routine filings is expected to increase a typical residential customer's monthly bill by approximately $5.64 or 4.1%. The adjustment reflects updated actual costs for fuel, purchased power, wholesale market sales, and incorporates costs for two wind farms and Energy Trust of Oregon program funding.
