BISMARCK, N.D. – White Rock Oil & Gas, LLC, has notified the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality (NDDEQ) of a produced water spill caused by a pipeline leak in Billings County. The incident occurred on March 22, approximately 15 miles southwest of Grassy Butte impacting the surrounding rangeland and an unnamed drainage. Produced water is a by-product of oil and gas development. White Rock Oil & Gas, LLC, estimates approximately 200 barrels (8,400 gallons) were released from the pipeline. Personnel from the NDDEQ have inspected the site and will continue to monitor the investigation and remediation.
