What changed
USPTO granted Patent US12602656B2 for a real-time inventory system using radio frequency identification technology to monitor goods on freight vehicles. The system automatically registers quantity changes during loading and unloading, performs periodic or ad hoc inventory checks, and transmits data through vehicle gateway and remote management units. It further includes alarm functionality to detect goods loss risks during transport.
For entities involved in freight logistics and supply chain management, this patent establishes intellectual property rights over RFID-based vehicle cargo monitoring technology. While the patent itself does not impose compliance obligations, it may influence future product development decisions and competitive strategies in the freight tracking technology sector.

Abstract
The present invention discloses a vehicle goods real-time inventory system based on radio frequency identification technology. The system includes an automatic goods inventory unit, a vehicle gateway unit, an alarm prompt unit, and a remote management unit. Through the automatic goods inventory unit, the system registers quantity changes during loading and unloading of goods in real time, performs quantity inventory on transported goods regularly or irregularly, and transmits registration and inventory information to the vehicle gateway unit or directly to the remote management unit through the vehicle gateway unit. The system provided in the present invention can register quantity changes during loading and unloading of goods in real time, and perform quantity inventory on transported goods regularly or irregularly. On this basis, the system can comprehensively determine whether goods on a freight vehicle are at risk of being lost.
