ROSEVILLE, Minn. – C.S. McCrossan of Maple Grove, Minnesota, was the apparent low bidder this morning for a project to reconstruct Highway 65 to improve safety and mobility between 97th Ave. and 121st Ave./Paul Parkway in Blaine. This project will improve travel time and reduce crashes along the highway. The apparent low bid of $168.2 million was the lowest of six bids received.  Once the bid is certified and an award is made, construction is scheduled to begin in early June.

The five-year project will convert the existing at-grade intersections at 99th Ave., 105th Ave., 109th Ave. and 117th Ave./Cloud Dr. into interchanges, with Highway 65 traveling above. The project also includes a pedestrian bridge across the new freeway between 113th and 114th Avenues, rerouting existing local street/driveway connections using frontage/backage roads between 97th Ave. and 121st Ave./Paul Parkway along with reconstructing existing sidewalk along the road to meet Americans with Disability Act (ADA) standards.

When completed in the summer of 2030, this project will provide a smoother road surface and extend pavement life, enhance accessibility, reduce congestion, improve traffic flow and improve safety along the road.
