About this source

Contracts Finder is the UK's portal for public-sector contract opportunities below the £30,000 threshold that triggers a Find a Tender notice. This is where local councils, NHS trusts, fire authorities, schools, and arms-length bodies post their everyday procurement: stationery, consultancy, building maintenance, IT support, training, research. Around 200 new opportunities a month. Watch this if you supply small-to-mid-value services to UK public bodies, monitor council spending in your area, or scout entry-level contracts to build a public-sector track record. GovPing publishes each opportunity with the buyer, value where given, contract type, and closing date. Recent: a WWF-UK literature review on climate trade-offs, a £120k maintenance contract for FXPlus.

What changed

South Cambridgeshire District Council has published an open procurement notice for probate research and estate administration services to support its 'Bring Empty Homes Back into Use' programme. The council requires assistance locating next of kin, executors, or legal representatives of deceased property owners before enforcement options are applied. The contract is valued at zero pounds, as services are concessionary on behalf of beneficiaries, and is designated suitable for SMEs only.

Suppliers interested in providing probate research or estate administration services to a local authority should review the full tender documents on the council's e-tendering portal before the 15 May 2026 closing deadline. The one-year contract commencing 8 June 2026 represents a limited engagement focused on locating parties rather than full estate management.
