About this source

Contracts Finder is the UK's portal for public-sector contract opportunities below the £30,000 threshold that triggers a Find a Tender notice. This is where local councils, NHS trusts, fire authorities, schools, and arms-length bodies post their everyday procurement: stationery, consultancy, building maintenance, IT support, training, research. Around 200 new opportunities a month. Watch this if you supply small-to-mid-value services to UK public bodies, monitor council spending in your area, or scout entry-level contracts to build a public-sector track record. GovPing publishes each opportunity with the buyer, value where given, contract type, and closing date. Recent: a WWF-UK literature review on climate trade-offs, a £120k maintenance contract for FXPlus.

What changed

Billing Parish Council has published an open tender opportunity for the supply of two bespoke timber buildings. The first is an insulated garden workshop (6m x 4m internal) with full insulation, double-glazed windows, and compliant electrical installation. The second is a machinery storage building (8m x 4.5m) with heavy-duty water-resistant flooring suitable for loads up to 2 tonnes. Buildings must use minimum C24 grade timber, Western Red Cedar or composite cladding, and EPDM or equivalent felt-free roofing with a 10-year minimum guarantee. Suppliers must attend a mandatory site visit arranged with the Green Space Manager; failure to attend renders tenders non-compliant. Submissions must include drawings, itemised pricing, VAT status confirmation, programme, and warranty details.

Contractors specialising in prefabricated timber buildings and garden structures should note the specific technical requirements including UC3B external timber treatment, UC2 internal treatment, BS 8417 compliance for timber treatment, and BS 7671/Part P compliance for electrical works. The ground screw foundation is preferred, subject to ground conditions. The tender is open to SMEs but not VCSEs, and uses the open procedure below threshold.
