Idaho Power $37.9M Demand-Side Management Expenses Application
Idaho Power Company filed an application with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission on March 13, 2026, requesting determination that $37,876,413 in 2025 demand-side management expenses were prudently incurred. The application covers $28,936,689 in Idaho Energy Efficiency Rider funds and $8,939,724 in demand response program incentives funded through base rates. The Commission issued Order No. 37013 establishing a modified procedure with written comment and reply comment deadlines.
Rocky Mountain Power and Idaho Power Seek Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity for Gateway West Segment E-8 Transmission Line
Rocky Mountain Power and Idaho Power have filed applications with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission seeking certificates of public convenience and necessity for Segment E-8 of the Gateway West project, a 500-kilovolt transmission line from the Midpoint Substation near Jerome, Idaho to the Hemingway Substation near Melba, Idaho. The segment is designed to provide 2,000 megawatts of additional transmission capacity and deliver energy to the Treasure Valley. Idaho Power will hold 99 percent ownership while PacifiCorp holds 1 percent. Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2027.
IIPA Granted Intervention in Idaho Power Gateway West Transmission Case
The Idaho Public Utilities Commission granted Idaho Irrigation Pumpers Association's (IIPA) petition to intervene in consolidated cases IPC-E-26-09 and PAC-E-26-06, involving Idaho Power Company and PacificCorp d/b/a Rocky Mountain Power's applications for Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity for Segment E-8 of the Gateway West 500-kV transmission line. The order requires all parties to comply with Commission Rules 71-75 and 222-223, and to serve all future filings on all parties of record including IIPA's designated representatives.
Rocky Mountain Power Seeks $4.1M ECAM Recovery
Rocky Mountain Power, a division of PacifiCorp, has applied to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission requesting authorization to recover approximately $4.1 million through the Energy Cost Adjustment Mechanism (ECAM), which would result in a corresponding 0.7% decrease to Schedule No. 94 rates. The Company also proposes returning $1.4 million in renewable energy credit revenue to customers under Schedule No. 98, corresponding to a 0.4% decrease in those rates. The Commission is accepting written comments until May 8, 2026, and reply comments until May 15, 2026.
Idaho Irrigation Pumpers Association Granted Intervention in Idaho Power Marginal Pricing Case
The Idaho Public Utilities Commission granted the Idaho Irrigation Pumpers Association (IIPA) petition to intervene in Case No. IPC-E-26-08, involving Idaho Power Company's annual update to marginal pricing used in certain schedules. No party timely opposed the petition. The Commission ordered all parties to comply with Commission Rules 71-75 and 222-223, and to serve all future filings on all parties of record.
