Summary

The Mississippi Real Estate Commission issued an Official Letter of Reprimand to salesperson Mary Jane Wooten (Case No. 2024-48) following her admission that she failed to correctly complete a Working With a Real Estate Broker form on three separate occasions during a 2024 transaction. The Commission found violations of MREC Rule 4.3 (Disclosure Requirements), Miss. Code §73-35-21(1)(n) (improper dealing), and MREC Rule 3.1(F) (failure to abide by Commission rules). What changed

The Mississippi Real Estate Commission approved an informal resolution with Mary Jane Wooten, a licensed salesperson, resulting in an Official Letter of Reprimand. The violation centered on Wooten's failure to correctly complete Working With a Real Estate Broker (WWREB) disclosure forms on three separate occasions during a 2024 real estate transaction. The Commission cited violations of MREC Rule 4.3 governing disclosure requirements, Mississippi Code §73-35-21(1)(n) prohibiting improper dealing, and MREC Rule 3.1(F) requiring adherence to Commission rules and regulations.

Real estate licensees in Mississippi must ensure proper completion of required disclosure forms, as procedural errors in documentation can constitute improper dealing under state law. This reprimand serves as a formal disciplinary record maintained in Wooten's permanent license file. The Commission explicitly warned that any repeated violations will result in escalated enforcement action, potentially including suspension or revocation of the real estate license. Licensees should review their disclosure form completion procedures to ensure compliance with MREC requirements.
