Build a Dynamic Workforce: Join the 2026 Montana Disability Employment Summit

HELENA, MT — The Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) today announced the 2026 Montana Disability Employment Summit is set for May 13–14 in Helena.

The summit aims to provide Montana employers with the tools and insights necessary to build resilient, innovative teams by embracing disability-driven innovation.

“This summit is about ensuring Montana’s industry has the talent needed to compete in a global economy,” said Chanda Hermanson, Administrator for the DPHHS Disability Employment and Transitions Division. “By showcasing the entrepreneurial journeys of Montanans with disabilities and the success of our local employers, we are proving that inclusive hiring is not just the right thing to do - it is a business imperative that drives long-term value for the entire state.”

The event will kick off with an interactive session led by The Harkin Institute for Public Policy and Citizen Engagement on the competitive advantages of disability inclusion, demonstrating that diverse workforces are more profitable and innovative.

Attendees will explore Governor Greg Gianforte’s “406 JOBS” workforce initiative and hear directly from Montanans with disabilities who have successfully transitioned into competitive community employment.
