| # Dear health care provider,

The New York State Workers’ Compensation Board (Board) is pleased to share the launch of new resources to support your participation in the NYS workers’ compensation system.

New discipline-specific webpages

Each web page is organized to give health care providers and other Board stakeholders quick, role-specific information about:

  • Board authorization requirements and scope of practice.

  • Treatment standards under the Workers’ Compensation Board’s New York Medical Treatment Guidelines (MTGs).

  • Telehealth rules and required in-person visit intervals, where applicable.

  • What prior authorization requests (PARs) can be submitted.

  • Billing requirements, including information about electronic submission of the CMS-1500 form.

  • Direct links to training, webinars, and additional health care provider resources.
Access the new discipline-specific pages here via the Board’s Who Can Treat page. We will be updating the pages regularly, so check back!

New inbox for health care provider feedback

We’ve also established a new email account for health care provider feedback, giving you a direct and convenient way to share your experiences, concerns, and suggestions: HCPFeedback@wcb.ny.gov.

Note this email account is different from the providers@wcb.ny.gov email that health care providers can use for help with specific issues, or to reply to credentialing and or compliance-related communications.

Whether you have input or questions regarding Board processes, training resources, or ideas regarding how we can improve your overall health care provider experience, your feedback is extremely valuable to us, and we want to hear from you.

Your submissions may be shared with appropriate internal teams to review and address trends or reoccurring concerns. Individual responses will be provided when follow-up is requested, and contact information is included.

The new webpages and inbox are part of the Board’s ongoing efforts to make it easier for health care providers to participate in the NYS workers’ compensation system. The Board is also in the process of updating the Official New York Workers’ Compensation Medical Fee Schedule to increase reimbursement, updating our deposition regulations to increase fees to health care providers and ensure timely payment, as well as other beneficial improvements.

For the latest health care provider news, please see the Health C are P rovider U pdates section of our website.

We truly appreciate your partnership and thank you for your continued commitment to treating New York’s injured workers. |
