In November 2025, the agency awarded over $1.5 million through this program.

Since 2019, FloridaCommerce has awarded more than $9.1 million through the CPTA program to over 110 Florida communities, with 90 of those being rural areas. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, FloridaCommerce announced that funding is available through the Community Planning and Technical Assistance (CPTA) grant program. This funding gives eligible communities, including Rural Areas of Opportunity (RAOs), municipalities, counties, and Regional Planning Councils, the opportunity to create innovative planning solutions that address economic development, resiliency strategies and critical local planning issues. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2026.

In November 2025, FloridaCommerce awarded more than $1.5 million for community planning projects through the CPTA grant program. Since 2019, FloridaCommerce has awarded more than $9.1 million through the program to more than 110 Florida communities, of which 90 are in rural areas.
