One-Way Bronchus Valve with Integrated Support, Lower Cost
Summary
USPTO published Patent Application US20260096886A1 by inventors Gang HOU, Ting YANG, and Chen WANG for a one-way valve for bronchus with an integrated support portion and air-permeable portion. The application claims the design reduces production costs compared to prior art nickel-titanium alloy frameworks while increasing yield rates. The application was filed September 19, 2023, under Application No. 19115289.
What changed
USPTO published Patent Application US20260096886A1 for a one-way valve for bronchus comprising an integrated structure combining a support portion (for abutment against bronchus inner wall) and an air-permeable portion. The application claims the integrated design replaces prior art requiring separate nickel-titanium alloy frameworks and coating materials.
Medical device manufacturers and competitors in the bronchus valve space should monitor this application's prosecution. If granted, this patent could require competitors to design around the integrated structure or seek licensing. The cost-reduction claims suggest potential market competitive implications for existing nickel-titanium-based valve products.

ONE WAY VALVE FOR BRONCHUS
Application US20260096886A1 Kind: A1 Apr 09, 2026
Inventors
Gang HOU, Ting YANG, Chen WANG
Abstract
A one-way valve for a bronchus, comprising: a support portion, the outer wall of the support portion being used for abutting against the inner wall of a bronchus; and an air-permeable portion provided in the support portion and connected to the inner wall of the support portion. The support portion and the air-permeable portion are of an integrated structure. The technical solution in the prior art of a combination of a nickel-titanium alloy framework and a coating material can be replaced with the present invention, such that the production cost of the one-way valve for a bronchus can be reduced; moreover, the yield of one-way valves for a bronchus can be increased, and the popularization and use of the one-way valves for a bronchus can be facilitated.
