Louisiana Has the Second Lowest Electricity Rates in the United States

The American Legislative Exchange Council released its annual Energy Affordability Report, ranking Louisiana second lowest in electricity rates among U.S. states. Louisiana improved 16 rankings in energy affordability from 2023 to 2024, the biggest improvement of any state, with prices decreasing from 10.41¢ per kWh to 8.8¢ per kWh.
