Pharmacy Registration Fee Increases
Summary
The Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland has increased pharmacy registration and retention fees from £398 to £477, effective 1 June 2026. The amendment also sets the restoration fee at £121 and permits electronic delivery of retention fee demands. All fees were previously set at £398.
What changed
These Regulations amend the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland (General) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1994 by raising registration fees and retention fees from £398 to £477, setting a fixed restoration fee of £121, and allowing electronic delivery of fee demands. The regulations were made on 27 March 2026 and come into operation on 1 June 2026.
Pharmacies and pharmaceutical chemists registered in Northern Ireland should update their fee budgets to account for the £79 annual increase. Entities should ensure their registered email addresses are current with the Society to receive electronic fee demands. No transition period applies as this is a straightforward fee adjustment.
What to do next
- Update fee schedules to reflect £477 registration and retention fees
- Verify email address on file with PSNI is current for electronic fee demands
