LB1075 Doubles Late Filing Fees, Raises Committee Registration to $150
Summary
Governor Jim Pillen signed LB1075 into law on April 15, 2026. Effective April 16, 2026, all late filing fees assessed by NADC have doubled, and Principals of Lobbyists filing Forms C and CC are now subject to late filing fees for the first time. New political committees filing a Statement of Organization (NADC Form A-1) will pay a $150 registration fee, up from the previous $100 fee. The new fee structure applies to any filing due on or after April 16, 2026.
“Effective April 16, 2026, all late filing fees have doubled.”
Lobbyists and Principals of Lobbyists in Nebraska who previously filed Forms C and CC without late fee exposure should treat the April 16, 2026 effective date as a compliance milestone — late filings on those forms will now incur penalties at the same rate as other NADC filings. Political committees should also verify their registration-fee budgets reflect the $150 figure before filing new Statements of Organization.

What changed
LB1075, signed by Governor Jim Pillen on April 15, 2026, makes two changes to NADC fee structures effective April 16, 2026. First, all late filing fees are doubled across the board, and Principals of Lobbyists filing Forms C and CC are newly subject to late filing fees. Second, new political committees registering with NADC via Statement of Organization (Form A-1) will pay $150, an increase from the prior $100 fee.
Political committees, lobbyists, and Principals of Lobbyists filing with NADC should update their compliance calendars and filing systems to account for the doubled late fees. Any filing due on or after April 16, 2026, will be assessed at the new rates.
