What changed

IDFPR expanded its CORE online licensing portal to Phase 3, increasing from 100 to 129 professions now available for new applications and renewals. The system uses Illinois ILogin for secure authentication and offers a mobile-friendly interface for managing licenses. Professionals applying for licenses in the 129 covered professions should use CORE for new applications; those who already created applications in CORE can use it for renewals. All other transactions including restorations, reinstatements, and professions not yet transitioned must continue using existing paper-based or legacy online processes until Phase 3 fully launches.

IDFPR has successfully launched Phase 3 of its two-year CORE implementation. A total of 129 professions are now available in CORE.

New applications for licensure are being accepted in CORE for all 129 professions. Additionally, renewals are available in CORE for those who created their new application in the system.

For all other transactions—including renewals for initial applications not created in CORE, restorations, reinstatements, and professions not yet transitioned within the four Divisions-- please continue to follow the existing process until further notice.

We are continuing to make progress on Phase 3, which will bring full functionality and all DPR license types into CORE.

For renewals, restorations, reinstatements, and all other profession types, please continue following the current process. Detailed instructions can be found at IDFPR | Professional Licensing in Illinois.

This is part of IDFPR’s plan to modernize all of the Department’s licensing services and regulatory functions (including consumers filing complaints against licensees accused of wrongdoing).
