Endangered Species (Import and Export) (Fees) Rules 2026
Summary
The Minister for National Development in Singapore has issued the Endangered Species (Import and Export) (Fees) Rules 2026, which come into effect on March 31, 2026. These rules revoke the 2006 version and specify new fees payable to the Board for matters related to the import and export of endangered species.
What changed
The Minister for National Development has issued the Endangered Species (Import and Export) (Fees) Rules 2026, which will take effect on March 31, 2026. These new rules revoke the previous Endangered Species (Import and Export) (Fees) Rules 2006 and establish a schedule of fees payable to the Board for activities related to the import and export of endangered species. The rules also define 'non-scheduled species' and grant the Director-General the authority to waive or refund fees.
Entities involved in the import or export of species regulated under the Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act 2006 must review the new fee schedule and ensure compliance by the effective date of March 31, 2026. Failure to pay the correct fees could result in non-compliance. The Director-General's discretion for waivers or refunds should be noted for specific cases.
What to do next
- Review the Schedule of Fees in the new Rules.
- Ensure all import/export activities comply with the new fee structure by March 31, 2026.
- Consult with the Director-General regarding potential fee waivers or refunds if applicable.
