What changed
The EFTA Court has ruled against Iceland in Case E-10/25, finding that the country failed to implement Directive (EU) 2016/2102 concerning the accessibility of public sector websites and mobile applications. This judgment, dated December 9, 2025, highlights a breach of EFTA State obligations related to digital inclusion and accessibility standards within the European Economic Area.
This ruling implies that public sector bodies in Iceland must take immediate steps to ensure their websites and mobile applications comply with the accessibility requirements outlined in the directive.
