CA Arts Council Programs Policy Committee Meeting
The California Arts Council Programs Policy Committee (members Lilia Gonzáles-Chávez and Jodie Evans) will meet on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 2:00 PM via Zoom to discuss preliminary direction and goals for the Council's 2022 grant season, including staff recommendations on timeline, grant cycles, and priority programs. Results of the meeting will be used at the Council's next business meeting on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. Written public comments will be accepted online before Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 9:00 AM.

The California Arts Council published its public meeting agenda for June 22, 2021, scheduled from 10:00 AM to 4:20 PM via teleconference with no physical location. The meeting covers standard governance items including a chair's report, public comment periods, committee updates, racial equity training, program data presentation, and preparation for the 2022 grant season planning. Per Executive Order N-29-20, the meeting will be held entirely via Zoom and phone with accommodations requests due by June 18, 2021.
California Arts Council Seeks Arts Providers for State Correctional Facilities, Up to $86K Per Institution
The California Arts Council (CAC) issued a Request for Proposals on September 25, 2024, seeking qualified nonprofit arts organizations to provide arts programming at California state correctional institutions through the Arts in Corrections (AIC) program. Organizations may request up to $86,000 per proposed institution, with proposals due by 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 14, 2024. An optional webinar will be held October 1, 2024 from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. PDT, and questions may be submitted to AIC Analyst Jonathan Estrada before 5 p.m. PDT on October 2, 2024. Since the program's re-launch in fiscal year 2013-14, CDCR's investment has grown from $2.5 million in the first two years to an $8 million annual commitment, with arts programming currently provided at all 33 state adult correctional facilities.
