Distance Learning, Fee, and Exam Rule Changes - Proposed Amendments
The Alabama Board of Cosmetology and Barbering proposes three rule amendments: (1) allowing cosmetology schools to offer up to 50% of coursework via hybrid distance learning under NACCAS compliance, (2) adopting standardized Open Records Request fees per Executive Order 734 including Shop Mailing List fees, and (3) removing the 375-hour additional training requirement for examination retakes after third attempt or two-year lapse, replacing it with a 24-month eligibility window. Comments accepted until January 5, 2026.
