Military Licensing for Service Members and Spouses
The Alaska Division of Corporations, Business, and Professional Licensing (CBPL) issued guidance on procedures for military service members and their spouses to obtain professional licenses in Alaska. Service members relocating under military orders may apply for permanent licensure under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) if they meet updated requirements effective March 23, 2025. Alternatively, qualifying applicants may request temporary licensure valid for 180 days under Alaska Statute 08.01.063, with possible extensions.
Alaska Board of Pharmacy, Seven Members, Regulatory Authority
The Alaska Board of Pharmacy, staffed by the Division of Corporations, Business, and Professional Licensing, comprises five pharmacists, one pharmacy technician, and one public member appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Legislature. The board adopts regulations for pharmacy practice, makes licensing decisions, and takes disciplinary actions under AS 08 and 12 AAC 52. The board must meet at least three times annually, with meeting materials available through the executive administrator.
