BOISE (April 7, 2026) - Idaho Power has submitted an application to the Idaho Public Utilities
Commission seeking certificates of public convenience and necessity for two natural gas-fueled power plants that will help the utility offset a growing demand for energy. The utility is proposing to build the South Hills Power Plant in Twin Falls County and the Peregrine Power Plant in Elmore County. The South Hills plant is designed to provide 222 megawatts of electricity. Idaho Power plans to begin commercial operation of the plant on June 1, 2029.
