Housing Law Bill to Accelerate Construction and Transform Territories

The French Government, led by the Prime Minister and the Minister of City and Housing, announced on April 23, 2026 the deposit of a housing law bill aimed at relaunching construction and transforming territories. The bill introduces accelerated permitting (Urgence Relance Logement), strengthened tax incentives for private landlords, and measures to return up to 700,000 vacant energy-inefficient homes to the rental market. Mayors will receive expanded authority over social housing attribution. The stated objective is 2 million dwellings by 2030, with construction timelines reduced to a single municipal mandate.

Vincent Jeanbrun Visits Dunkerque Urban Renewal Project

Vincent Jeanbrun, Minister for Urban Affairs and Housing, and Patrice Vergriete, president of ANRU, president of the Urban Community and mayor of Dunkerque, will visit Dunkerque on Friday April 24, 2026 to tour the Guynemer urban renewal project in Saint-Pol-sur-Mer. The programme includes visits to the Jean Bart-Guynemer site, a model apartment, and a press availability at 12:05. Press accreditation is required by 9:00 on the day of the visit.
