DIA Amends Privacy Act Records Notice for HRMS
Summary
The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) is amending a system of records notice for its Human Resources Management System (HRMS) under the Privacy Act of 1974. The changes update the categories of records, retrievability, and system manager information.
What changed
The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has issued a notice amending its Human Resources Management System (HRMS) record system, as governed by the Privacy Act of 1974. The amendments update the description of record categories to include employment, security, education, training, and administrative information, specifying that records may contain employee names, SSNs, addresses, and identification numbers. Retrievability will now be based on name and employee identification number, and the system manager's address has been updated.
This action is a routine update to an existing system of records and does not require specific action from regulated entities beyond awareness of the updated record descriptions. The amendment is effective April 7, 2008, unless comments are received that necessitate a contrary determination. No penalties are specified for non-compliance with this notice itself, as it pertains to the DIA's internal record-keeping practices.
