James P. v. Frank Bisignano - Disability Benefits Granted

James P. brought suit against Frank Bisignano, Acting Commissioner of Social Security, seeking judicial review of the denial of his disability insurance benefits under Title II of the Social Security Act. The US District Court for the District of Minnesota granted Mr. P.'s request for relief and denied the Commissioner's cross-motion after finding the Administrative Law Judge's denial was not supported by substantial evidence. Toyota Discovery Appeals Overruled, Minnesota Court Affirms Magistrate Orders

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. filed two appeals challenging nondispositive discovery orders issued by Magistrate Judge John F. Docherty on November 26, 2025 and December 4, 2025. The District Court applied the 'clearly erroneous or contrary to law' standard under Fed. R. Civ. P. 72(a) and D. Minn. LR 72.2(a)(3), found neither order met that threshold, and overruled both of Toyota's objections while affirming both discovery orders. Gordon-Greenwood v. United States of America - Complaint Dismissed

United States District Judge Jerry W. Blackwell issued an order on February 27, 2026 accepting United States Magistrate Judge Shannon G. Elkins's Report and Recommendation issued January 26, 2026. The court overruled plaintiff's objections, granted defendant Jill A. Brisbois's Motion to Dismiss and the Federal Defendants' Motion to Dismiss, and dismissed plaintiff Kurtis Lavonte Gordon-Greenwood's Complaint in its entirety. The court found plaintiff's objections identified no error of law or fact warranting rejection of the magistrate judge's recommendations.
