ACCC Updates Franchise Disclosure Register Form Requirements
Summary
The ACCC published a new form and manner decision for franchise disclosure register submissions, effective 30 March 2026. The changes affect all franchisors creating new franchise profiles or updating existing ones on the register. The new form modifies how franchisors must provide information required under the Franchising Code of Conduct.
What changed
The ACCC has issued a new form and manner decision for the franchise disclosure register under paragraphs 92(3)(a) and 93(3)(a) of the Franchising Code of Conduct (Competition and Consumer (Industry Code – Franchising) Regulations 2024). The new form changes how franchisors submit information to the register but does not create new substantive disclosure obligations. The changes apply immediately to new profile creation and updates to existing profiles.
Franchisors should review the new approved form and ensure any new franchise profiles or updates comply with the revised requirements. New franchisors must still have a profile on the register at least 14 days before entering into any franchise agreements. The ACCC decision document is available at the provided link for detailed compliance requirements.

Background
The Competition and Consumer (Industry Code – Franchising) Regulations 2024, known as the Franchising Code of Conduct, requires a franchise disclosure register to be available on the internet and accessible without charge.
The franchising code requires most franchisors to have a profile for each franchise system on the register and to publish information about the franchise. New franchisors must join the register and have a profile at least 14 days before entering into any franchise agreements.
Paragraphs 92(3)(a) and 93(3)(a) of the Franchising Code of Conduct require franchisors to provide information to be included on the franchise disclosure register in a form and manner approved by the Chairperson of the ACCC in writing.
