USPTO Patent Application for Absence Framework
Summary
The USPTO has published patent application US20260087458A1 for an 'Absence Framework'. The application describes systems and methods for dynamically generating absence plans based on user data and algorithms, potentially impacting how employers manage employee leave.
What changed
This document is a publication of a patent application (US20260087458A1) filed by the USPTO, detailing an 'Absence Framework'. The proposed system involves a computer processor and memory executing instructions to receive absence planning requests, process user data from various sources, apply an algorithm to generate an absence plan, and output this plan. It also includes communication ports for interactive user interface displays.
As this is a patent application, it does not impose immediate regulatory obligations. However, if granted, it could lead to new software solutions for managing employee absences, potentially affecting employers' HR and IT systems. Compliance officers should note this as a potential future development in workforce management technology.

Abstract
According to some embodiments, systems and methods are provided including a computer processor; and a computer memory, coupled to the computer processor, storing instructions that, when executed by the computer processor, cause the back-end application computer server to: receive an absence planning request from a first user; receive data for the first user from the data store and at least one of a first third-party platform and a second third-party platform; extract data from the received data for the first user; apply an absence planning algorithm to the extracted data to dynamically generate an absence plan; and output the generated absence plan; and a communication port coupled to the back-end application computer server to facilitate a transmission of data with remote user devices to support interactive user interface displays, including the absence plan, via a distributed communication network. Numerous other aspects are provided.
