Deputy Governor Ahmetaj Highlights Albania SEPA Integration
Deputy Governor Natasha Ahmetaj of the Bank of Albania spoke at the Albanian Diaspora Summit on Albania's integration into the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). She outlined the Bank's reforms to formalize remittance channels and reduce costs for families, as well as measures to support fintech sector development and expand financial services access. SEPA membership represents a significant step toward Albania's EU financial integration, expected to lower cross-border transfer costs and promote payment innovation.
