FAA Airman Knowledge Test Registration Collection Renewal
The FAA has issued a notice under the Paperwork Reduction Act seeking public comments on its renewed information collection for the Airman Knowledge Test Registration Collection (OMB Control No. 2120-0792). The collection involves voluntary submission of personal information by individuals registering for one of 90 knowledge tests administered at approved Knowledge Testing Centers as part of FAA airman certification. The estimated annual burden is 9,666 hours from approximately 290,000 respondents. Written comments are due by June 9, 2026.
FAA Proposes Superseding Airworthiness Directive 2025-10-12 for Airbus Aircraft
The FAA proposes to supersede Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2025-10-12, which applies to multiple Airbus SAS Model aircraft including A319, A320, A321, A330, A350, and A380 series airplanes. The proposed AD would add Model A321-271NY airplanes to the applicability, continue existing repetitive visual inspection requirements for broadband antenna adapter plates, skirts, vents, and attachment fittings, and prohibit installation of affected parts under certain conditions. Comments are due by May 26, 2026.
Syngenta Crop Protection LLC Requests FAA Exemption Extension for UAS Agricultural Operations
Syngenta Crop Protection LLC submitted a petition to the FAA requesting an extension of Exemption No. 21124, which permits operation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) weighing below 55 pounds for commercial agricultural services. The petition requests relief from multiple provisions of 14 CFR including Sections 107.36, 137.19, 137.31, 137.33, 137.41, and 137.42. The FAA will review the petition and issue a determination.
