Kentucky Launches Online Boat Registration Renewal Service
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announces the launch of online boat registration renewal effective April 1, 2026. Boat owners may renew via drive.ky.gov using their KY boat number and title number. Registrations expire April 30 annually; boat property taxes must be paid simultaneously with renewal. The service is part of the Kentucky Automated Vehicle Information System (KAVIS) that replaced the state's 40-year-old mainframe system.
Team Kentucky Releases 2026-2027 Official Highway Map Promoting Family Travel Experiences
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and Tourism, Arts & Heritage Cabinet have released the 2026-2027 Official Highway Map showcasing Kentucky's tourism destinations, themed trails, accessible attractions, and horse-centric landscapes. The map highlights experiences including Author Fest in Russellville, Biscuit and Bourbon Derby in Louisville, and Laurel Cove Music Festival in Pineville. Maps are available at Kentucky rest areas, welcome centers, and online for electronic download or printed copy requests.
Two New EV Fast Charging Sites Open in Campton and Morehead, Kentucky
Governor Andy Beshear announced the opening of two new EV fast charging sites in Campton and Morehead, Kentucky, developed by Francis Energy under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program. The Campton site at 182 Quillens Chapel Service Road received $877,000 in funding, while the Morehead station at 3333 KY 801 received $728,000. Both sites feature four ports capable of charging at up to 400 kilowatts each and are accessible 24/7.
Governor Beshear Announces New EV Fast Charging Site Open in Paducah
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced the opening of a new EV fast charging site at the Pilot Travel Center in Paducah, the ninth station funded through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program. The site features four charging ports capable of 400 kilowatts each and received $405,000 in state EV Charging Program funds. Kentucky has obligated $55 million in NEVI funds for fast-charging stations across the state along interstates and parkways.
