What changed
The FMC published notice of three ocean shipping agreements filed for review under the Shipping Act of 1984. Two are amendments to existing space charter arrangements that remove Nissan Motor Car Carrier Co., Ltd. as a party and make conforming address updates; the third establishes a new slot charter between ONE Ocean Network Express and COSCO Shipping for U.S. West Coast service with a requested expedited review timeline.
Shipping lines operating in the Pacific trade lanes, particularly those with existing space charter arrangements or competitive overlap with the named parties, should monitor these filings for market-access implications. Any interested party may submit comments to the FMC Secretary within 12 days of the notice's Federal Register appearance, or within 7 days for the agreement requesting expedited treatment.
