Renewal of FAA Construction Notice Information Collection (OMB 2120-0001, Forms 7460-1 and 7460-2)
Summary
The FAA seeks public comments to renew OMB approval of its information collection for construction and alteration notices (Forms 7460-1 and 7460-2) under the Paperwork Reduction Act. The collection enables the FAA to assess the impact of proposed structures on navigable airspace and the National Airspace System per 49 U.S.C. Section 44718 and 14 CFR 77. Approximately 85,000 respondents face an estimated 63,332 hours of annual burden at 15 minutes per response.
What changed
The FAA is seeking renewed OMB approval to continue collecting information via Forms 7460-1 (Notice of Proposed Construction or Alteration) and 7460-2 (Notice of Actual Construction or Alteration). This is a standard administrative renewal under the Paperwork Reduction Act following a prior 60-day comment period. The collection burden remains approximately 63,332 hours annually across 85,000 respondents.
For affected parties—developers, construction firms, and individuals proposing structures near navigable airspace—this renewal maintains existing reporting obligations. Respondents should verify their current forms and procedures remain unchanged and submit any feedback on burden reduction or utility improvements by May 18, 2026.
