Subject: Amendment in export policy of Baryte (Natural Barium Sulphate) – regarding.

In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 read with Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with paragraph 1.02 and paragraph 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, as amended from time to time, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the export policy conditions relating to Baryte (Natural Barium Sulphate):

  1. The export policy of Baryte (Natural Barium Sulphate) shall be regulated grade-wise as under:

  • Grade A (Specific Gravity \geq 4.2): Free
  • Grade A (Specific Gravity \geq 4.2): Restricted

  • Grade B (Specific Gravity = 4.10–4.20): Restricted
25111090 Natural barium sulphate (barytes): other
  • Grade CDW (Specific Gravity < 4.0): Free
  • Grade CDW (Specific Gravity < 4.0): Free
  1. Export of Grade A and Grade B baryte shall be subject to authorisation/licensing by DGFT, in accordance with the procedure already followed for items falling under “Restricted” category.

  2. Grade CDW baryte shall continue to remain freely exportable.

Effect of this Notification: Export policy of Baryte (Natural Barium Sulphate) is amended on a grade-wise basis by placing Grade A and Grade B under Restricted category and retaining Grade CDW under Free category.
