Scope
Description
The provision of Tree Maintenance services covers Council owned trees within the boundaries of the London Borough of Hillingdon including;
• Parks and Open Spaces,
• Woodlands,
• Housing estates,
• Tenant's gardens
• Trees on Highways and,
• Social Services establishments.
The provision of tree maintenance, will include, but is not necessarily restricted to;
• Pruning,
• Felling,
• Stump removal,
• 24 hour per day, 365/7 days per year emergency call out duties,
This procurement is being split into the below Lots;
Lot 1: North Highways and Boroughwide out of hours call outs
Lot 2: South Highways
Lot 3: Housing and Corporate sites
The Contract will be for an initial term of three (3) years with an extendable option for a period of up to two (2) years, giving a total of five (5) years (the Term).

Lot 1. North Highways and Boroughwide out of hours call outs
Description
7385 trees are plotted within our tree database. Work is many sent through on an adhoc basis with a focus on priority level. We are working towards an inspection cycle based on the Road Hierarchy and hope that within this contract period work will become more proactive. The contractor is expected to provide out of hour (OOH) call out provision for the whole borough irrespective of the establishment type, this means work could be within a housing site or a parks tree has fallen onto the highway. OOH call outs are expected to have a response time of 90 minutes.
The contractor is also expected to be able to respond to emergency call outs geographically located within the North of the borough within working hours with a response time of 45 minutes.

Lot 2. South Highways
Description
8118 trees are plotted within our tree database. Work is many sent through on an adhoc basis with a focus on priority level. We are working towards an inspection cycle based on the Road Hierarchy and hope that within this contract period work will become more proactive. The contractor is expected to be able to respond to emergency call outs geographically located within the South of the borough within working hours with a response time of 45 minutes. In the event of a storm, the contractor maybe called upon to assist with out of hours call outs.

Lot 3. Housing and Corporate sites
Description
5300 trees are plotted within our tree database; there is an unknown number of tenant garden trees and corporate sites trees. Trees within housing communal areas are inspected on a three-year inspection cycle and work batches sent out. Work to trees within tenant's gardens and corporate sites is sent out on an adhoc basis. The contractor is expected to be able to attend urgent jobs the next working day.
In the event of a storm, the contractor maybe called upon to assist with out of hours call outs however, contractors awarded Lot 1 will be called upon first.
