Summary

The Department of State has issued a correction to the final rule concerning the HAVANA Act. This correction amends the comment deadline for a specific section, extending it from March 16, 2026, to May 15, 2026.

What changed

This document is a correction to a previously published final rule concerning the HAVANA Act. Specifically, it amends section 135.3 by changing the deadline for comments related to that section. The original deadline of March 16, 2026, has been extended to May 15, 2026.

Compliance officers should note this change to the comment deadline for § 135.3. While this is a correction to a final rule, the extended comment period suggests that further engagement or review of the specific provisions within § 135.3 may be warranted before the new deadline of May 15, 2026.

What to do next

  1. Note the extended comment deadline of May 15, 2026, for § 135.3.
