About this source

Find a Tender is the UK government's official portal for public-sector procurement notices above the £30,000 threshold. Every contract opportunity, award, and modification published by central departments, NHS trusts, local councils, universities, and arms-length bodies lands here first. GovPing pulls each new notice as it appears, around 569 in the last 30 days, with the contract value, awarding body, and supplier name parsed out where given. Watch this if you sell to UK government, monitor competitor wins, or track public spending in your sector. Recent examples: a £185k events contract awarded by the British Council, a £120k nano-mechanical stage at the UK National Nuclear Laboratory, £50k of Adobe licences for the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

What changed

Bristol City Council has awarded a contract for vehicle removal services to Macpherson & Colburn Ltd under the open procurement procedure required by the Procurement Act 2023. The £1.2M contract runs for 5 years and covers removal of vehicles from one street to another within Bristol city boundaries, with a 2-hour response requirement or tow-truck availability. Quarterly KPIs monitor performance on timescales, resource compliance, vehicle specification, communication, and social value delivery.

This is a contract award notice with no direct compliance obligations for other entities. Suppliers in the vehicle towing and recovery sector may wish to note the award for competitive awareness, and similar local authorities undertaking highway maintenance may review Bristol's approach to vehicle removal services procurement.
