Summary

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has submitted a new information collection request to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review. This pertains to the Natural Resource Damage Assessment Restoration Project Information Sheet, and the public has 60 days to comment.

What changed

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is seeking OMB approval for a new information collection activity related to its Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) Restoration Project Information Sheet. This submission initiates a public comment period, allowing interested parties to provide feedback on the proposed data collection instrument.

Regulated entities and other stakeholders should review the proposed information sheet and submit comments to NOAA by May 19, 2026, to influence the final design and requirements of this collection. Failure to comment may result in the information collection being implemented as proposed, potentially creating new reporting obligations for entities involved in NRDA restoration projects.

What to do next

  1. Review the proposed Natural Resource Damage Assessment Restoration Project Information Sheet.
  2. Submit comments to NOAA by May 19, 2026.
