PTA and Pakistan Post Sign MoU to Strengthen Digital Connectivity and Public Service Delivery
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Pakistan Post Office Department signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 7th April 2026 at PTA Headquarters in Islamabad. The agreement establishes a framework for information sharing, mutual cooperation, and coordination across digital postal services, e-governance, cybersecurity, infrastructure utilization, capacity building, and knowledge sharing. Chairman PTA Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman and Director General Pakistan Post Mr. Samiullah Khan participated in the signing ceremony.
PTA Grants 5G Licenses to Jazz, Ufone, Zong for Commercial Services
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) formally authorized Cellular Mobile Operators Jazz, Ufone, and Zong to commence 5G commercial services across Pakistan. All three operators will roll out 5G in a phased manner to ensure high-quality user experience. CMOs are required to publish updated lists on their official websites identifying covered areas and 5G-enabled compatible mobile handset models.
