Williamsburg County is adding a new Capital Projects Tax, effective May 1, 2026. As a result, its Sales Tax rate will increase to 8%.
Retailers should begin collecting the Capital Projects Tax when making sales and deliveries in Williamsburg County beginning May 1.
Also, two counties are reimposing existing local taxes this year:
- Lexington County has extended its School District Tax, effective March 1, 2026. Its Sales Tax rate remains 7%.
